This song wants to point out that moment in life in which two people leave each other forever, after a long period of shared life. The words want to evoke that feeling of inner emptiness and silence whose causes are apparently inexplicable. They are therefore repeated almost like a mantra, trying in vain to understand the reason for what happened. Musically it is sequentially made up of 3 musical objects that reflect times that are very distant from each other
The original musical objects
The first (m127) was written in April 2024 and constitutes the entire introductory instrumental part. It is based primarily on some chords composed of two different harmonies, the accompaniment harmonizes a melody in a different key. In the second part it evolves into a minor key with a descending chromatic trend, just as in the 18th century Baroque musicians expressed the concept of 'lament'. The central part with text is a musical object from January 2005, essentially conceived as a 'ballad' with guitar sounds. The final viola part (same sound used in an 'iconic' way in other parts of the Album) refers to a musical object that is lost in the mists of time. It was one of the first I wrote, it hasn't been cataloged but it certainly dates back to the 70s. It is essentially a primordial harmonic experimentation on the use of seventh chords.
Original lyrics (in Italian)
L'amore è un aereoplano e poi
Silenzio dietro i passi suoi
Mentre si allontana cerchi la sua mano
E resta qui vicino a noi
Un sentimento che non vuoi
Ascolta il tuo cammino
Il giorno è più vicino
E resta piu' vicino a noi
Un sentimento che non vuoi
Silenzio dietro i passi suoi
Ascolta il tuo cammino
Il giorno è più vicino
Al suono persistente della pioggia
tutto cambia
English translation
Love is an airplane and then
Silence behind her steps
As she walks away you reach for her hand
And stay here close to us
A feeling you don't want
Listen to your pace
The day is closer
And stay closer to us
A feeling you don't want
Silence behind her steps
Listen to your pace
The day is closer
To the persistent sound of rain
everything changes
